Gauri Saksena, the sensational voice
India Post News Service

SAN JOSE, CA: Gauri Saksena has been singing forever, or at least as far back as she can remember. Raised in New Delhi, India, Gauri received early classical training in Gandharva Mahavidyalaya under Bhaiji (Vinay Chandra Mudgal, who founded Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, New Delhi's first and most highly reputed institution for the teaching of Hindustani music and classical dance). Thereafter, she received training from Savita Devi (daughter of Smt Siddheshwari Devi). Recently she has started training under Shubhangi Sakhalkar didi.

Gauri went to Modern School, Vasant Vihar, where she won many inter-school competitions. She was also awarded "Nightingale of Modern School". After winning the inter-state singing competition for the light singing category, Gauri had an opportunity to undergo musical training to pursue a career in playback singing. Tempting as it was at the time, her education took precedence.

Settled in San Jose, CA, Gauri is currently the lead singer for a professional Bay Area band "Dhun". The Band's focus has mainly been doing charity shows for well reputed foundations like IDRF (The India Development Relief Fund) and SEF (The Sankara Eye Foundation). Following her launch, Gauri has done numerous shows in India, which have received much appreciation.

Now this California based musical sensation has won instant recognition in Bollywood with her debut music album "Chane Ke Khet Mein" (launched on February 24 in Mumbai). The album has received exceptional media coverage in the prominent TV/news channels and the print media. Gauri has a sensational voice and the capability to reach levels of excellence in the celebrated world of music.
